Stomp Collector EP available now.

This probably looks much like an abandoned blog. It's not, honest. I keep saying I'm gonna do something proper with it, one day I actually will.

Anyway, the new EP: Stomp Collector is available all over the place on DogManic Records.

You can buy it for £1 from my BandCamp page as WAV, 320 or FLAC
or, if you wanna pay more you can buy it at
iTunes for £1.79
Beatport for £4.48
Amazon for £2.76
or pretty much anywhere else you can think of.

Or, download the "Cheapo Freebie Edition" here, here or as a torrent here. This is a lower quality version though, obviously I'd like it if you paid for it.

New tracks up, check em out.

So, its been a fair while of what seems like complete inactivity. The reality is in fact more complicated but not necessarily more interesting. Anyway, I've been spending the last few weeks reinventing myself and my sound and playing around with a bit of dubstep. Here's 4 tracks with my take on this genre.

Anyone familiar with the old Infected Minds stuff will I'm sure notice a few similarities in style, particularly on the last track Methoxy, the other three are a little more dancefloor orientated than some of my other outputs.

On the subject of Infected Minds, the old material hasn't entirely been forgotten, the plan over the next few months is to remix/reconstruct most of those tunes into something far better, that aswell as a few other projects.

Anyway, enjoy.

What's In A Name?

So... Why the name change? What's that all about then?

Mutant Dog has been a moniker of mine for several years, an evolution from Underdog when that all finished. It was the name of my soundsystem for a short while, its been my main handle at various forums, its my default username all over the place. In fact, I have been Mutant Dog a great deal longer than Infected Minds.

So really the question should be: Why Infected Minds? When i started that a couple of years back it was as much an idea and a concept as it was something for me to put tunes out under. I had this whole political ideology going on and Infected Minds just seemed to fit with what i wanted to say. I admit, theres something slightly pretentious about using a pluralised name for what is essentially a one-man band (hmmm... Nine Inch Nails) however i wanted to create something neither band nor solo project. Infected Mind (the singular) didn't sound right.

Mutant Dog didn't feel like the right name back then, a little too reminiscent of Underdog, i wanted to create something new and different. The irony now is that although i envisaged Infected Minds as this kinda political electronic act, making deep thoughtful dance music unbound by rules or restrictions, i came to feel ultimately very restricted by the whole conceptual nature of it. Somehow it all seemed a bit too serious!

So after a year of practically zero creative output i started to ask myself what i needed to do to change, it's not really about me changing my name, its about me freeing myself from the confines of the conceptual cell that i'd become trapped by. Infected Minds had to go.

So now I've decided to stick with Mutant Dog, it's me, it's whatever i want it to be, whatever vibe i'm on then thats what Mutant Dog is. I can still be political, I can still be serious, deep and thoughtful, just now i don't have to be like that. Hopefully i'll be blogging more again and knocking out a few more tunes fairly soon. It all feels quite exciting and fresh again.

I'll keep you updated.

Welcome to the all new Mutant Dog blog.

This one will replace the now-abandoned Infected Minds blog. There are a number of reasons for this change, most notably a need for some kind of fresh start. As an artist I will now be recording, producing, performing etc under this new name.

For the time being the old blog is still online at, i might even copy a few of my favourite posts over here but no promises...

So basically, a new name and a new era. More to come soon.
